Rabba and its caring customers help fund some 2,500 meals through annual Toonies for Tummies 2022 campaign
Mississauga, Ont., March 14, 2022 – Rabba Fine Foods and its community of caring customers have raised enough money to provide an estimated 2,500 meals for students. The drive took place in all Rabba local markets, February 3 to 17, and was part of the company’s Rabba Roots community program, which directed the funds to The Grocery Foundation and its popular Toonies for Tummies annual campaign. Customers were invited to join the cause by making a small in-store donation to help provide nutritious meals for students who all too often start their school day on an empty stomach.
“Too many children go to school without a healthy breakfast” said Rima Rabba, spokesperson for Rabba. “Our mission is to be here for our communities, and we support those around us who need it most. We are grateful that we can work with our industry partners and engage our customers to help keep our neighborhoods well-fed”.
Rabba has deep roots in the community it serves. Born out of hard work and a love for food and service, they have gone from one single grocery store in 1967 to a network of 36 locations, employing hundreds of people, including many newly arrived immigrants and other citizens from all walks of life. In addition to food insecurity, Rabba contributes to health and emergency services and is also a supporter of arts and events that add colour to local communities. Rabba believes that a good community starts with good neighbours.
Since joining the Toonies for Tummies program in 2015, Rabba’s donation to The Grocery Foundation has surpassed $40,000 to the campaign.
