Mississauga, Ont., September 13, 2023 – Rabba Fine Foods, the GTA’s beloved neighborhood market, celebrated its 25th annual Rabba Roots Charity Golf Classic on September 11, 2023, at the picturesque Brampton Golf Club. The event witnessed a gathering of vendors and partners from the grocery industry, all joining forces to champion the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program. Rabba’s tournament has a long history of collaboration with local not-for-profit organizations within the Greater Toronto Area to make a meaningful impact.

At the heart of the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program lies a dedicated mission to provide assistance where it is most needed, supporting customers and neighborhoods in meaningful ways. Rabba takes pride in its strong backing of numerous organizations and maintains close partnerships with local charities and programs, including The Grocery Foundation, Good Shepherd Ministries, Food Banks Mississauga, and Trillium Health Partners.
For the second consecutive year, Tom Shurrie, President & CEO of the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers, assumed the role of Master of Ceremonies for this prestigious golf event. Tom, who also serves on the board of directors of The Grocery Foundation, underscores the profound impact that unity within the industry has on the communities it serves and emphasizes the crucial role of nutrition in Canada’s neighborhoods.
“This marks the 25th annual golf tournament hosted by Rabba, and once again, it has proven to be a resounding success. It is heartwarming to witness industry players collaborating with vendors to champion vital causes within our communities,” says Shurrie.
