Rabba joins Mayor Crombie’s 2021 Thanksgiving Food Drive in support of the Mississauga Food Bank

Mississauga, Ont., October 5, 2021 – Rabba Fine Foods, the Greater Toronto Area’s local neighbourhood market, has joined Mayor Crombie’s 2021 Thanksgiving Food Drive as a community sponsor. Through its Rabba Roots community program, the company has been a proud partner of The Mississauga Food Bank over the years, providing greater food choices to low income residents, giving them the ability to exercise nutritional choice in their diet.

“We are delighted to support once again Mayor Crombie’s Thanksgiving Food Drive,” says Rick Rabba, president of Rabba Fine Foods. “There are a lot of residents in Mississauga and beyond who are struggling to make ends meet and put food on the table and we’re doing everything we can to collaborate with community groups like The Mississauga Food Bank.”

The seventh annual Thanksgiving Food Drive runs to Oct. 17 with the goal of raising $400,000 and 200,000 pounds of food.

“The success of our city-wide Thanksgiving Food Drive wouldn’t be possible without the support of community partners like Rabba Fine Foods,” says Bonnie Crombie, Mayor of Mississauga. “Together, we share the same vision, and that’s ensuring all residents in our city have access to healthy food year round. I want to thank Rabba Fine Foods for doing so much to support vulnerable residents here in Mississauga.”

In 2020, more than 25,800 hungry neighbours visited a food bank – some 6,800 for the first time.
