Rabba and its partners rally behind specialback-to-school donation to Food Banks Mississauga

Local Grocer Partners with Danone, Minute Maid, Honest Kids, and Kellogg’s to Help Local Families as Children Return to School

Mississauga, September 4, 2024 – Rabba Fine Foods, the local market with deep roots in the Greater Toronto Area, has coordinated a special grocery delivery to help local families with this year’s back-to-school season. As it does every year, Rabba has partnered with leading brands, this year Danone, Minute Maid, Honest Kids, and Kellogg’s, to deliver hundreds of yogurt drinks, juice boxes, and Kellogg’s Cereal Fun Pac to Food Banks Mississauga, which will in turn distribute them to families in the community.

“Back-to-school time is not only hectic and stressful for families but can also be riddled with expenses,” says Rima Rabba, head of the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program. “Starting the new school year helping to feed local kids is a great way to give them a head start. We are grateful to our devoted partners for their ongoing support of this initiative. We could not do it without them.”

Rabba has been a supporter of Food Banks Mississauga for more than 15 years, most recently through its Rabba Roots Community Giving Program, a grassroots initiative committed to helping people with greater access to food, health, and emergency services. It is also a supporter of arts and events that add color to local communities.

“We are honored to partner with Rabba in supporting this special annual donation,” says Wayne Barker, Director of Sales – Impulse at Danone Canada. “Providing snacks to families and children who might need a boost before or during school reflects our commitment to the communities we serve with partners like Rabba. We appreciate the important work of food banks such as Food Banks Mississauga and applaud Rabba for going this extra mile to help children start the school year with the nutrition they need to thrive.”

The number of children who have turned to Food Banks Mississauga has increased by almost 10% compared to last year, with children accounting for more than one-third of food bank users. Rabba Roots Community Giving Program delivered snacks to Food Banks Mississauga just in time for the back-to-school season, partnering with suppliers such as Kellogg’s, Danone, and Honest Kids.
