Mississauga, April 18, 2024 – Rabba Fine Foods, the Greater Toronto Area’s local 24-hour marketplace, announces today its official partnership with Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization and leader in food recovery and redistribution.
Rabba Fine Foods will be collaborating with Second Harvest by collecting grocery essentials and redirecting it to people in need, while minimising the environmental impact of unnecessary waste. The partnership is a part of the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program, which is committed to supporting local charitable organizations in the GTA. Through this partnership, Rabba and Second Harvest aim to rescue approximately 25,000 pounds of food annually, ensuring it reaches the hands of those facing food insecurity in the GTA.
Rima Rabba, who heads the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program, emphasized the importance of addressing food insecurity in communities stating, “Partnering with Second Harvest allows us to contribute to delivering food to those who need it most. It also provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of supporting local organizations like Second Harvest”.
