Rabba co-hosts ninth annual Super Bowl Party at Good Shepherd Ministries in support of neighbours in need

Dinner includes meals, snacks, essential products, and a message of care for those in need on game day and beyond

TORONTO, February 6, 2025 – Rabba Fine Foods is once again bringing the spirit of game day to Toronto’s most vulnerable, donating pallets of food and essential products to Good Shepherd Ministries in downtown Toronto. As millions gather to celebrate football’s biggest night, the donation will help to feed more than 120 men and benefit hundreds over the next few weeks, ensuring that those facing homelessness can also experience the warmth and joy of a special event.

“The invaluable work carried out year-round by the Good Shepherd and its team is truly inspiring,” said Rick Rabba, president of Rabba Fine Foods. “This annual event offers a brief but meaningful respite for Toronto’s homeless community during a time of year when they are often overlooked.”

The delivery was designed to help the guests of Good Shepherd to brace for the colder days ahead, as Toronto faces an ongoing homelessness crisis.

Thanks to generous contributions from partners including Pizzeria Libretto, Maple Leaf Foods, Lassonde, Wonderbrands, Campbell’s, Coca-Cola Canada Bottling Limited & Conagra, guests will enjoy a game-day feast featuring gourmet pizza, savory perogies, classic hamburgers and hot dogs, crispy fries and onion rings, and cotton candy. In addition to this, thousands meals, snacks and fresh produce, along with hundreds of winter clothing items, will be provided to sustain the community beyond game night.

“This event goes beyond serving a hearty meal,” continued Rabba. “We’re happy to contribute to a welcoming space where guests can unwind, share a game with others, and momentarily set aside their worries to enjoy the simple excitement of cheering for their favourite team.”

In 2024, Good Shepherd Ministries served more than 330,000 meals, providing between 900 and 1,000 meals and snacks per day. As homelessness and food insecurity rise, shelters see a growing demand for services and donations.

“We are honoured to partner with Rabba for the ninth annual Super Bowl celebration. Through the Rabba Roots program and with its many partners, Rabba is recognizing the need for community members to work together to provide compassionate care for the most vulnerable among us,” says Adrienne Urquhart, Director, Fundraising and Public Relations at Good Shepherd Ministries. “Through this partnership, not only are they responding directly to the food insecurity crisis we are experiencing in Toronto, but also recognizing the need to acknowledge and celebrate each individual.”

Good Shepherd Ministries in Toronto hosts a Super Bowl party for guests of the shelter thanks to an ongoing partnership with Rabba and its community giving program. On Sunday, February 09, 2025, Rabba and select partners will provide thousands of snacks and meals to Good Shepherd Ministries – 120+ meals of which will be served during the Super Bowl game.
