Mississauga, Ont., August 27, 2020 – From August 17 to 22, Rabba Fine Foods participated in the annual C-Store Days program to recognize the role of convenience stores in Ontario communities while promoting a good cause.
Organized by the Ontario Convenience Stores Association (OCSA), the campaign invited retailers and their customers to also raise funds for local children’s hospitals — Children’s Health Foundation, McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation, SickKids Foundation and CHEO Foundation. In total, more than $27,000 was raised for participating charities.
“There’s a lot to celebrate, especially this year,” says Rick Rabba, President and CEO of Rabba Fine Foods. “Across our province, independent c-stores and grocery businesses provide neighbourly service to all of our citizens, 24/7. We are committed to being of service, even through difficult times, as members of the community. I could not be prouder of the contributions of our peers and staff.”
This is the third year that Rabba, under its Rabba Roots Community Program, has taken part in the initiative. To-date, it has contributed more than $5,000 for the cause. As in previous years, Rabba hosted local politicians, dignitaries and convenience store industry leaders to interact with customers, speak with its operators and staff and experience, first-hand, the inner workings of a typical Rabba local neighbourhood market.
“We are grateful to our community partners like Rabba Fine Foods for their participation in this initiative over the years,” said Dave Bryans, CEO of Ontario Convenience Stores Association. “Their commitment to helping groups in need, year-after-year, is commendable and inspiring. We look forward to working together as our industry renews its commitment to Ontarians well into the future.”
