Mississauga, Ont., May 8, 2018 – A Leger survey commissioned by Rabba Fine Foods reveals alarming insights into how GTA residents feel about and behave in relation to Mother’s Day – specifically, that many may be procrastinating, feeling forced or hassled when it comes to buying a gift for that special mother in their life.
“We love our moms, there’s no denying that, but it appears many of us are ill prepared to fully embrace and celebrate the day,” says Gabriela Ghisi, local mom and spokeswoman for Rabba’s inaugural Mother’s Day survey. “Let’s face it, feeling obligated or hassled to do something is often the result of procrastination. I’ve partnered with Rabba to try to tell people it’s ok, you can buy a nice gift right up and until the very last minute, without stress.”
Findings from the survey include:
“We expect to sell more than 10,000 roses this Mother’s Day, from Monday to Sunday,” says Rick Rabba, president at Rabba Fine Foods. “It’s our biggest week of the year for roses and among the biggest for chocolates too. Our message to consumers is simple – plan ahead if you can but, if you don’t, rest assured you can always come by our markets and pick up something nice and affordable without sweating it too much, and without creating toxic emotions for yourself. Moms can feel that.”
Complete results from Rabba’s inaugural Mother’s Day survey are available here. Roses at Rabba are available as bouquets of three ($9.99), six ($13.99) and 12 ($22.99).
An online survey of 500 GTA residents was completed between April 27 to May 1, 2018, using Leger’s online panel, LegerWeb. The margin of error for this study was +/-4.4%, 19 times out of 20.
