The Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle returns to the Port Credit Memorial Park for its 21st anniversary
Mississauga, Ont., August 28 – The sounds of blues & jazz music will soon fill the streets of Mississauga, September 6 to 8, with the return of the 21st annual Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle, celebrating the best of blues and jazz music. As part of its return to Port Credit Memorial Park, the festival will include for the fifth year the Rabba Fine Foods Street Shuffle, Saturday, September 7, from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. which will be free for people of all ages.
“We’re extremely happy to be able to offer our local community a day filled with fun and music for all to enjoy,” says Rick Rabba, president, Rabba Fine Foods. “Working with the organizers of the Southside Shuffle has always been a smooth and enjoyable experience and the Rabba Fine Foods Street Shuffle has become one of the highlights of the year for many of us. Our company was founded, in part, on community outreach and partnerships, and we’re proud to be a part of an event that is so appreciated by Mississauga residents.”
Jack Rabba, founder of Rabba Fine Foods, will kick off the shuffle with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 11:45 a.m. followed by a performance from the Top Hat Marching Band.
More than 20 bands will perform along Lakeshore Rd from Hurontario St. to Stavebank Rd. The fun continues in Memorial Park with two free music stages in the south end of the park, two ticketed stages in the north end, a free kids zone with an art workshop, and face painting. Guests can also purchase a variety of jewellery, clothing, and art by local artisans in the Vendor Village, and indulge in a wide variety of food options at the Southside Food and BBQ Court.
The Rabba Fine Foods Street Shuffle will conclude at 4 p.m. with a traditional French Quarter second line parade led by Dinnys Dixieland Band leading umbrella & whistle blowing followers into the park where the music continues until 11 p.m.
