Celebrating Canada’s best blues music with the Rabba Fine Food Street Shuffle

Mississauga, Ont., September 6 – Rabba Fine Foods, the GTA’s neighbourhood market, will be the presenting sponsor of the Rabba Fine Food Street Shuffle this Saturday, September 8. The Tim Hortons Southside Street Shuffle, also known as Mississauga’s Musical Mardi Gras, is in its 20th year of celebrating Canada’s best blues music.

“Music has a way of bringing people closer together,” says Rick Rabba, president of Rabba Fine Foods. “Especially when it’s community and neighbourhood-based. Rabba was founded as a neighbourhood market so we’re very pleased that this event, while growing each year, has retained its neighbourhood ‘block party’ character. It’s an honour to be a part of it again.”

Rabba Fine Foods has been the presenting sponsor of the Street Shuffle for over four years, kicking off the annual parade with Jack Rabba, founder of Rabba Fine Foods and the ceremonial ribbing cutting.

The Rabba Street Shuffle takes place noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, September 8 with the ribbon cutting to take place at 11:45 a.m. The Top Hat marching band will kick off the festivities by parading down Lakeshore Rd. at Hurontario St. in a high-energy procession reminiscent of French Quarter second-lines.

The Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle will take place between September 7-9 at Port Credit Memorial Park. Throughout the weekend there will be more than 150 bands from across Canada and internationally, as well as a variety of food, activities, games, and workshops.
